Journey of Flower Upcyclers

Mr. Paresh Pandey founder of Weaarambh and a social activist. Aarambh is an organization that creates the most out of flower waste. The innovative idea struck Mr. Paresh when someone gifted him flowers and he kept them in his cupboard. On seeing the flowers die, he pondered over the thought of how many flowers go to waste like this. He then dug up and found research about the waste of flowers in India. What to do with these waste flowers? He again researched and talked about this to his friends. They came up with the idea of creating herbal colors for Holi and pure natural incense sticks. This birthed the Aarambh.

When anyone tries to go against the flow, one faces opposition rather than support. Mr. Paresh was no different than others. He to faced questions such as how would you survive on this? You have zero experience in this industry and many more. Such questions could not bring down the spirits of Mr. Paresh. On the contrary, he used the questions as stepping stones to his success.

Aarambh was not created in a day. Mr. Paresh first approached his friends with his idea and they all appreciated it. They did not hire anyone and worked day and night to create the products. They started with a mere investment of Rs. 75,000 and today they are a team of around 11 people. Mr. Presh dreams of educating and training people about this concept. He urges the government to help him spread this across India, thus generating employment and stopping the wastage of flowers.

Mr. Paresh wandered taking around for various permissions required from the government bodies to start the Aarambh. But he did everything for the good of mother nature. He put his blood and sweat for this project and is still doing that.

In addition to Aarambh, Mr. Paresh also works as an animal rescuer at an NGO. He has saved many lives of animals. He also tries to educate people around him on better caring for street dogs and cats. He firmly believes that animals such as humans have equal rights in their lives.

The Legit Talks asked Mr. Paresh about his lesser-known qualities. He said that he is and will always be a learner. He has a habit of getting knowledge wherever he go, though he may not tell this to everyone.

In the coming five years, Mr. Paresh envisions greater employment for Aarambh. He wishes to wipe out unemployment along with the wastage of flowers. If given a chance to talk with a government, he would first put up the point about wastage not only about flowers but also about other environmental changes required.

Mr. Paresh has always been a fan of The Legit Talks show and appreciates their efforts. He said that people come to know what unique things are happening in people’s lives. We learn from each other, says Mr. Paresh.

Dr. Ayushi Toley Ganorkar is a dentist currently pursuing MDS in Orthodontics 2nd year at Chattisgarh Dental Research Institute, Rajnandgaon. Though dentistry was not her first choice, she took up the course as there was no option left for her. However, she rose through the ups and downs and learned a lot about dentistry and life through college. For her master’s, she chose Orthodontics as her major as she had a keen interest in the subject and wanted to explore more.

Dr. Ayushi turned her career towards orthodontics after marriage. While practicing dentistry, she realized that she needs to stop this and grow more. That’s when she decided to appear for the exam and pursue a master’s in orthodontics. Like many other students, Dr. Ayushi faced self-doubt during the preparation for the exam. Will I pass and score well? Will I get admission? Will I get the desired branch? Dr. Ayushi was surrounded by her own questions, but she overcame them by studying hard every day. As she was married, she had certain responsibilities too, though she had a supporting family. Handling all that and studying to her fullest every day made her what she is today. She focused on the present day and forgot about the past hard days that she faced.

Not many people understand the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist. Dr. Ayushi said that there is more in orthodontics than dentistry. It may look very simple from the above, but it has many things deeply rooted inside. She explained with an example, endodontists have a specific treatment plan for a particular issue of the tooth. In orthodontics, each patient is given a customized treatment and different patients have different treatments.

The current trend in orthodontics is that of a clear aligner system. There are multiple brands that manufacture it, but today even orthodontists can produce in their own office and use it to treat patients. This trend is growing, says Dr. Ayushi.

The Legit Talks asked Dr. Ayushi why orthodontists are known for bringing out the best smiles in people. Dr. Ayushi explained that there are two things: An aesthetic smile and overall facial harmony or facial balance. Orthodontists focus on facial balance more rather than focusing on just the smile. There are some people who just need to correct their smile as their facial balance is perfect (like actresses), and then there are people who need to have facial harmony. The way the teeth move, the orientation of your nose, the orientation of your upper jaw and lower jaw, and much more are now possible with all new techniques and efficient biomechanics. This has helped to correct any shape and make it more pleasing.

This, however, cannot be considered as a beauty treatment. The process involves different alignments such as the alignment of the upper jaws with the nose, and also the overall facial profile. It is difficult and different from what a dentist does to beautify your smile.

Everybody has a secret that no one knows about and The Legit Talks asked Dr. Ayushi about hers. She said that she has a mandatory checklist every day for the to-do tasks. If, for consecutive days, she is unable to prepare such a list or strike off the tasks, she gets cranky.

As mentioned at the beginning of the interview, becoming a dentist was not the first choice of career by Dr. Ayushi. If not a dentist, she would have been a news anchor!

The Legit Talks asked Dr. Ayushi about her proud moment, to which she denied having one. She just makes every day count and lives contently.

The five-year plan for Dr. Ayushi involves her living happily with her family. She has always longed to spend time with her loved ones and she is looking forward to it. She also plans to open two clinics of her own.

It is often said that we grow through what we go through. It was not Dr. Ayushi’s first choice of becoming a dentist. She considered it as God’s plan and she anchored it. Today she has learned so much about the field and she grew as a person too.

The biggest challenge in Dr. Ayushi’s life was the step of marriage. Married life changes everything, especially for a girl. Adjusting to a new house and people, their habits, their likes and dislikes, and on top of that trying to grow your career is a big task. Things are different for a girl when she is at her mother’s house and when she stays with her in-laws. Her responsibilities grow and there is so much to look after, that girls get pretty less time to study. Dr. Ayushi, however, strived hard through all these with determination toward her career and studies.

Dr. Ayushi is grateful for having a loving husband and a family. She’s also grateful for whatever she has achieved. She feels blessed as she got everything she asked for. She is also grateful for her parents as they have been supportive through all these years, especially her mother.

The message that Dr. Ayushi has for the viewers is that Trust your Timeline. Do not compare your life with others, trust God and whatever he has designed for you.

Dr. Ayushi appreciates the efforts of The Legit Talks team and how they strive hard to let people know the unknown. Short but impactful stories are what makes this platform legit, says Dr. Ayushi.

The Journey of an Author

Ms. Veenela Sushmita, who hails from Vishakhapatnam, is currently a software engineer at MNC. She is also pursuing her masters from MIT, Pune. Being a curious learner, she also completed the course in Talent Acquisition Specialist and worked for a year in that field. Ms. Veenela had always had a keen interest in writing and therefore worked as a content writer as well. Today she is the author of the book ‘Men and Mistakes: Story of an Exploited Women’ which is available on both Flipkart and Amazon.

The idea of writing a book came to Ms. Veenela during the lockdown period when her brother moved out. She missed him so much that she started feeling lonely. To fill her emptiness, she started writing, which eventually became a book.

Though the title of the book comes a little negative, Ms. Veenela said it is not anti-feminist or anything like that. The book takes inspiration from real-life stories of women around Ms. Veenela. It is the story of a woman who has feeling for two boys at the same time. To sum up, the story follows an undergrad woman, the person she met, their interactions, numerous characters, how she was used, and what she had to endure. It’s raw, therefore drama may be limited. It’s the author’s story to show others that they’re not alone.

The Legit Talks asked Ms. Veenela about healing from traumas. Ms. Veenela said that she herself went through a trauma in childhood. She misjudged her parents and went through a lot of traumas during her school days. Growing up she understands that parenting is different from anyone and that one should not compare one’s parents with others. During the interview, she also said that children and parents should communicate with each other as much as possible so that children don’t go through traumas.

When asked about who is the one person that motivates Ms. Veenela, she said that there’s no one but herself. No other person has the power to motivate you unless and until you have it inside. People carry on with their lives and so should you! Ms. Veenela takes inspiration from little things in her life and it keeps on motivating her.

During the live interview, a question was asked about how should one publish their book. Ms. Veenela said that if you have an idea of the book, start writing it immediately, and that too without edits. Edit the whole book at the end when all your ideas and thoughts are on the paper. If you do not have an idea, start brainstorming every day. Eventually, you’ll come to know what you want to write. Once the book is published, do not go for paid reviews and paid promotions. Instead, go for organic readers. Ms. Veenela also insisted that one should not put all their money in the first book for promotions and stuff. Organic readers are important!

Ms. Veenela is a self-made person. She has gone through so much and has grown through all the trauma. She says that she may have hurt people on the journey, but she apologizes to them. She has emerged as a strong person who shall not take demeaning behavior from anyone and shall stand up for herself. Healing through trauma is a long and patient process. Ms. Veenela urges the audience to accept the trauma and heal at their own pace. Start the first step even when no one is there to support you. You will emerge successfully and you won’t even blame anyone. Instead, you learn to focus on what is required next. Celebrate your own journey and little successes.

The message that Ms. Veenela wants to give to the audience is that be kind no matter what. Be kind towards oneself and towards others.

Ms. Veenela appreciates the efforts of The Legit Talks. She said that such shows inspire people to do more in their life.
