Amrut says The Booklet Guy is not a brand, celebrity, motivational speaker, Ted Talk speaker, content provider, or life coach. He is a bibliophile who does not wish to keep all the benefits of reading to himself, but rather, for a larger purpose, wishes for India to develop a reading habit. The Booklet Guy is with a strong desire to instill a reading habit in young India.
Amrut is continually looking to improve the Booklet App and his reading habits. He sticks to the excellent advice in the book So Good They Can’t Ignore You by Cal Newport, which advice drawing inspiration from professionals in other disciplines. This would distinguish one from the crowd. Out of 100 such ideas, at least 2 would be executable. For Mr. Amrut, success is a feeling, and it is a daily affair. One should not define success by past accomplishments. Life is not the interval between birth and death; it is the present
moment. What you do from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed determines your life. Every day should begin with a clean slate to accomplish more. He explained to The Legit Talks that his appearance on Ted Talks, Josh Talks, or other such venues is not an accomplishment, but rather an acknowledgment of his accomplishment. Sometimes success disguises itself as a diversion.
The first book that Mr. Deshmukh read was Shyamchi Aai by Sane Guruji which was passed on to him by his late mother. After completing his board exams, he shifted his reading focus to nonfiction. His first nonfiction book was Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. Amrut emphasizes the book’s concept over its genre. If the book does not interest you, you should begin reading another book. The very first habit that Amrut discusses in his book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Readers, is to not make reading too special; instead, make it normal, because habits are casual. You are just abandoning the book, not the reading habit when you stop reading halfway through. You are at least aware of the types of novels you prefer and dislike. Due to technological advancements, the definition of reading has grown. Great thoughts, ideas, experiences, and research are transferred from the author’s mind to the reader’s mind through the medium of a book. The medium does not matter when reading, regardless of whether it is a PDF, a physical book, or internet material. There is no way to learn without making mistakes. They celebrate errors in booklet households. The key responsibility of a reader is to ensure the safety of his subordinates. They feel secure when making errors. In the future, people will be more eager to take chances, which will result in the development of new ideas and innovations.
Then Amrut discusses his life’s blunders, when he first began developing the booklet application, he considered outsourcing the task of summarising the book to someone else. On second
thought, that would have been the greatest mistake of his entire life. He recognized it would be similar to asking another person to exercise on his behalf. Thankfully, he realized this fairly early on and continued to pursue his objective. Family time, reading, meditation, physical activity, long-term thinking, and self-reflection are the most important aspects of life, but they are never urgent. The booklet guy is for those who see the value of reading but are unable to make it a high priority. The booklet app
facilitates access to books and reading. If a person like a book’s summary, he will want to purchase the book and dig deeper.
He emphasized the significance of developing professionally. He also discussed how passion arises with mastery of a task. First, you struggle at your job, then you achieve mastery, and last, it becomes your passion. According to Amrut, his greatest obstacle involved establishing and keeping his values. He designed the booklet app such that the reader may only download the next book summary after completing the previous one. While reading the Buy 1, Get 1 Free sign in the mall, he had the inspiration for this concept. He feels that values serve as an anchor for better decision-making. Most travelers choose to listen to the audiobook version of the book. During the voyage, network connectivity is frequently lost.
This inspired Mr. Deshmukh to consider offline access. He viewed every obstacle as an opportunity for advancement.
While the world revolves around the clock and schedules, Mr. Deshmukh is focused on the compass. The tasks must correspond to the direction of your objective. Prioritizing your calendar is more crucial than completing tasks. He also discusses To Do lists and Anti-To Do Lists with The Legit Talks. Amrut also spoke to The Legit Talks about the effective practice of random reading. This practice facilitates the investigation of numerous topics. Reading anything contrary to your beliefs helps you comprehend alternative viewpoints. His message to The Legit Talks viewers is to be more courageous and risk-takers.
