Ms. Lavanya Gudelli is the founder and president of Be The Change NGO. Lavanaya has a strong passion for social services that led to the formation of Be the Change in the year 2018. The NGO mostly focus on women’s empowerment and their education. The NGO has served more than 5000 women up until now.
Mother Teresa inspired Ms. Lavanya at a very young age to do social services. She says that one can do social services despite one’s family background or status. Surely, there will be obstacles and struggles in the beginning but overcoming them eventually will give you results.
Lavanya has always been a kind person, she feels. She is the kind of person who would give her resources, time, and energy to help people in need.
The NGO is located in Hyderabad and it is involved in multiple charity activities in collaboration with other organizations. The NGO has two wings called She Empowers and Celebrate Life. She Empowers exclusively focuses on women’s empowerment. They also conduct an award ceremony called Born to be Extraordinary where women achievers are awarded. The Celebrate Life initiative focuses on the idea that you only get one life and you should live it to the fullest. Lavanya said that she aspires to inspire before she expires.
Ms. Lavanya faced many struggles during her journey. She faced physical health issues such as being slightly paralyzed on both sides due to hormonal imbalance. She also faced difficulties while pursuing engineering and could not complete it, leading to depression. She did not give up and continued her journey.
The pandemic has changed everyone’s mindset and people have become more charitable, says Lavanya. People have become more kind towards each other and she believes this should be the way of life. Wasting time on hatred would not yield anything, rather spend your time helping others. Also learn to forgive people and yourself and move on in your life.
A CEO of a company asked Ms. Lavanya about her plan for the next five years. She said with a smile that there’s no plan for five years, whatever I do today is going to reflect the coming years.
The Legit Talks asked Lavanya about what message she would give to her younger self. She said that she would tell her younger self to bring more positivity, more generosity, more kindness, and start social service at a younger age.
The message that Lavanya wants to give to the audience is that this is one life, make sure you are happy in it. Be more positive in your life, realize your self-worth, and don’t seek validation from others.
Lavanya appreciates the efforts of The Legit Talks shows. She said that different stories inspire different types of people since each story is different.
